Mission For The Class
My mission is for all of my students to love school and love learning. I want to engrain an eagerness of always wanting to know more and students always wanting to increase their knowledge. Most importantly learning is fun and will always be fun in Mrs. Smith's Class. It's going to be a great year!
A Little Bit About Me
This is my 4th year of teaching and my 3rd year in first grade. I have the best job in the whole world! I feel so lucky to be at Elm Creek because I went to Elm Creek when I was little! I also went to Osseo Jr and Sr High. I then went to Bethel University where I majored in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Preprimary Education. I have a passion for teaching literacy as it is the doorway to all learning. I am SO EXCITED to be doing the Daily 5 in our classroom this year! It is an amazing design to reach all learners at their unique level. I love to learn and hope to pass that same love onto my students.
I grew up in Maple Grove the third of four girls. I got married last May to my wonderful husband Ryan. We live in St Louis Park. In my spare time, I like to run (I'm a marathoner), watch sports, spend time with friends and family, read, travel, and learn new things.
